Arizona Regional Economic Base Studies
As part of the Statewide Economic Study process, both data analysis and public outreach indicated that certain regions of the State have common economic characteristics. Often the boundaries of these regions do not follow political definition, but instead have common infrastructure issues, economic bases, opportunities, and constraints. Eleven unique Arizona economic regions emerged over the course of the Statewide Economic Study.

In order to provide information related to regional, as well as, local-level community, workforce and economic development planning, Commerce contracted with the ASU Center for Competitiveness and Prosperity Research to prepare regional economic base studies for each of the 11 economic regions listed in the Strategic Findings section of the Statewide Economic Study.
