The State Energy Program (SEP) is an existing program that will be expanded with $55.4 million in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funding. Arizona's SEP has successfully implemented programs and policies that have increased energy efficiency and the use of renewable resources for the past 30 years.

The comprehensive SEP application for ARRA funding was submitted to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) on May 12, 2009. DOE awarded funding in two phases: On June 24, 2009, $22.2 million was awarded and $33.2 million was awarded during the week of September 25, 2010.

Listed below are DOE approved programs. The Arizona Department of Commerce Energy Office (Energy Office) is in the process of establishing guidelines for these programs. So far, $35.1 million (63%) has been contracted for a variety of energy-related projects.
