| The State Energy Program estimates it has saved over $1,700.00 for Arizonans since January 1, 2010. This has cut kWh usage in Arizona by 19,486 and reduced emission offsets equivalent to 35,795 miles not driven on Arizona roads. |

The State Energy Program (SEP) is an existing program that will be expanded with $55.4 million in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funding. Arizona's SEP has successfully implemented programs and policies that have increased energy efficiency and the use of renewable resources for the past 30 years.
The comprehensive SEP application for ARRA funding was submitted to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) on May 12, 2009. DOE awarded funding in two phases: On June 24, 2009, $22.2 million was awarded and $33.2 million was awarded during the week of September 25, 2010.
Listed below are DOE approved programs. The Arizona Department of Commerce Energy Office (Energy Office) is in the process of establishing guidelines for these programs. So far, $35.1 million (63%) has been contracted for a variety of energy-related projects. Click here to view submitted state application.
Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy in Schools $20 million
The Energy Office has contracted with the School Facilities Board (SFB) in the amount of $19,268,000 to implement energy-saving and renewable energy projects. |
State Building Energy Performance Contracting $10 million
The Energy Office has contracted with the Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) in the amount of $9,525,000 to implement energy-saving and renewable energy projects for 16 state buildings.

21st Century Energy Grant $11,947,000
- $2 million has been contracted in other funding for renewable energy projects.

Revolving Energy Loan $2 million
The Revolving Energy Loan Program has been recently amended and approved by DOE to be a grant program.

Agricultural Renewable Energy Conversion Incentive $1.5 million
The Energy Office has contracted with the State Land Department in the amount of $540,000. Guidelines for remaining funds are in the process of being established.
