Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program - 'Direct'

'Direct' entities are: cities or towns with a population of more than 35,000 (based on 2007 U.S. Census figures); top ten populated counties; and Tribal Communities in Arizona that are eligible for funding directly from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). This webpage has been established as part of DOE reporting requirements for the Arizona allocation for Cities, Towns & Counties of $54,223,900.

10-19-09: The cities of Goodyear and Surprise are among the list of Arizona local governments to be awarded EECBG funding. To date: Arizona has been awarded $48,656,400 in future EECBG projects.

10-9-09: Navajo County and the Navajo Nation are among the list of Arizona local governments to be awarded EECBG funding. To date: Arizona has been awarded $47,366,800 in future EECBG projects.

10-1-09: The Town of Prescott Valley and the White Mountain Apache Tribe are among the list of local governments in Arizona to be awarded EECBG funding. To date: Arizona has been awarded $29,939,300 in future EECBG projects.

9-11-09: The cities of Avondale, Maricopa, Mesa and Phoenix; the counties of Apache, Coconino and Maricopa; and the Gila River Indian Community are among the list of Arizona local governments to have been awarded EECBG funding. To date: Arizona has been awarded $28,059,300 in future EECBG projects.

8-24-09: Bullhead City, Oro Valley, Scottsdale and Pima County are among the first local governments in Arizona to have been awarded EECBG funding. To date: Arizona has been awarded $3,012,800 in future EECBG projects.

Applications were submitted to DOE by the June 25, 2009 deadline and are anticipated to take 60-90 days to process. More information or links will be posted as government projects are approved and developed.  Governments in blue and bold are a link to more information.
