2007 Governor's Rural Development Conference
The Arizona Department of Commerce and the Arizona Association for Economic Development (AAED) saw the largest attendance to date at the 2007 Governor’s Rural Development Conference (RDC) in Oro Valley, August 15-17. The official count totaled 679 attendees over the three day conference that focused on innovation, foundation and education throughout the State.
Two distinguished awards are presented at the conference: the Governor’s Excellence Awards recognize community and tribal projects that show partnership, leadership and innovation; the Arizona Main Street awards honor outstanding foundation building where work to preserve historic structures and heritage occurs while improving the economic vitality of these downtown corridors. Seventeen awards were presented. Click here to see a list of awards and descriptions.
The 2008 conference will be jointly hosted by the towns of Carefree and Cave Creek. The Carefree Resort will be the site for the conference sessions, September 24-26, 2008.
