Small companies are the breeding ground for innovative products and disruptive technologies. In order to effectively allocate resources, it is important to have knowledge of similar and/or existing technology, patents, commercialization potential, markets and strategic partners. To enhance business growth and investment in Arizona, Commerce has contracted with industry and technology experts to provide Technology & Market Assessment grants that review and validate technologies, conduct competitive analysis, and explore market potential.

Overview

Who


Small Arizona technology companies
with less than 100 employees or less than $4 million in revenue. The company’s primary business has to be in one of the following technology areas:

    • Advanced Manufacturing
    • Advanced Materials 
    • Aerospace 
    • Biosciences
    • Electronics 
    • Environmental Sciences 
    • Information Technology
    • Nanotechnology 
    • Optics 
    • Telecommunications 
    • Sustainable Systems

What


Market Assessment provides emerging technology entrepreneurs with a commercialization feasibility study; hence contributing to the formulation of successful marketing and licensing strategies.

Technology Assessment offers technology entrepreneurs access to an independent, expert review of their technology under development. Emphasis is placed on determining if the technology already exists, is a good candidate for intellectual property protection and likely to find an attractive market.
